The first third of this book was great, but by the second half of the book, the author lost me. The story starts out with a pandemic that threatens the world. But by the second half, we're into a world wide conspiracy with secret islands, submarines, and a mysterious machine (or whatever it is) that will save humanity. Zakaria lays out the road from the pandemic to the transcendence of America the Dysfunctional.
